
Economic empowerment of women allows them to participate equally in the economy, control their finances, and have access to productive resources like land and credit. This empowerment leads to benefits for individuals, families, and entire economies, including poverty reduction, improved health and education outcomes, and more inclusive and stable societies. With the key objective of poverty alleviation this pillar becomes critical for AOF.

Key areas of focus include building women’s entrepreneurial skills and capacity to sustain their businesses through partnerships, promoting equal property rights, and ensuring access to high quality financial and social protection systems through capacity building workshops, and territorial approaches. They include strengthening and influencing institutions to implement gender-responsive economic policies, promoting financial inclusion by influencing credit policies and access to customized financial products and reduce migration by creating equal opportunities and livelihoods for women.
